ECESD - New School Name
The El Centro Elementary School District (ECESD) is soliciting names for a new school. We would like your input.

Here are some facts regarding the new school and the naming process.

The K-8 school will be located in the Victoria Ranch subdivision in the City of Imperial and construction is to begin once state funds have been allocated.

The school has been designed as a K-8 Magnet school with a focus on the arts – visual, performing and technical.
The school is unique for Imperial County in that it will consist of 3 buildings that are enclosed.
The elementary portion (K-6) will be the largest building.
A middle school (grades 7-8) building will be located on the site separately, and both groups of students will share a combination multipurpose room/cafeteria/gymnasium.

The District’s policy on facility naming requires that the school name recognize one of the following:
Individuals, living or dead, who have made outstanding contributions to the county or community.
Individuals, living or dead, who have made outstanding contributions of state, national or worldwide significance.
Individuals who have made outstanding contributions to education, at a local, state or national level.
The geographic area in which the school is located.
