Media Production Request Form
Ocean Exploration Trust proudly inspires the next generation of explorers through outreach programming, including distribution of deep ocean discoveries in news media, commercial productions, and to partner organizations. OET may decline requests for projects that don’t align with our strategic goals. OET reserves the right to charge an archival recovery fee for use of our images and video. These fees help cover the administrative costs associated with photo and video research and management. 


For Journalists

  • Use of OET’s footage on social media must be a direct repost from OET’s channels or first obtain license from our organization. If you want to modify, edit, or combine OET’s footage for social media use, complete the form below.

Commercial Licensing 
  • Stock footage, used in commercial projects, is subject to the following fees (USD): $45 per second of footage incorporated into the Program (10 second minimum) + $200 delivery fee per request. Footage
    duration is calculated per OET’s licensing agreement: unique frames, repeated clips counted once, slowed footage by source duration, sped-up footage by run time.
  • Requests are subject to OET’s standard licensing agreement, including warranties and indemnity provisions. Licensee acknowledges that OET footage may not be used in lobbying activities, political campaigns, or partisan advocacy.
  • Footage used in bona fide educational or nonprofit projects that are noncommercial and not monetized may be available at no charge, subject to OET’s discretion. If the project involves monetization (including ticket sales, subscription fees, advertising, sponsorship, or commercial distribution), footage shall be licensed at a discounted rate of 50% of the standard commercial fee ($22.50 per second, 10 second minimum), plus applicable delivery fees.
  • Footage should be credited to Ocean Exploration Trust, Inc. unless otherwise specified.
  • Licensees must provide a copy of the Program to OET for verification of usage, for internal record keeping only, without approval rights.
  • An example of OET standard license can be found here. A finalized license, processing, and delivery fees are required within thirty (30) days of receipt of valid invoice and prior to the first transmission of the Program.

Available Footage
  • Browse deep ocean footage on our YouTube channel @EVNautilus or via our full ROV dive recordings. 
  • Available resolution: Footage (HD 1080i59 NTSC) or up-resed versions of the same originals. 
  • Footage is delivered with a Google Drive link. Extensive footage requests are delivered on a hard drive and will include cost of hard drive + shipping.
  • Licensing requests are processed as quickly as OET priorities and expedition schedule allow. Delivery time may be 4-6 weeks, depending on request specifics and capacity of the team.
