The International Black Sea University (IBSU) is proud to announce a landmark event in its history, a forum dedicated to empowering women, featuring the distinguished Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Meline Arakelian. The Empowering Women Forum with the Honored Ambassador will take place on at 14:15 on June 12, 2024, at IBSU.  The details will be sent to the registered participants. Moreover, several high-profile guests from European Embassies are expected to join the event.

Purpose of the Event: The forum aims to provide a unique opportunity for students and attendees to engage directly with Dutch Ambassador Arakelian, gaining valuable insights into diplomatic relations and the crucial role of women in leadership. The event will serve as a platform for dialogue, enabling participants to ask questions, share perspectives, and foster relationships with influential figures in the field of diplomacy.

Format of the Event: The forum will be structured as a panel discussion, moderated by Art Arakelian, the Founder of the Forum and President of the American Studies Students' Union. Joining Dutch Ambassador Arakelian on the panel will be Prof. Tamar Shioshvili, the Dean of the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and coordinator of the American Studies BA and PhD programs. Together, they will explore topics related to women's empowerment, leadership, and diplomacy. 

About Dutch Ambassador Meline Arakelian: Ambassador Arakelian has a distinguished career in diplomacy, representing the Kingdom of the Netherlands with grace and expertise. She has held significant roles such as Deputy Head of Mission at the Dutch Embassy in Belgium and Deputy Head of the North America Division at the Dutch MFA, showcasing her leadership in international relations. Her extensive experience includes pivotal positions in the Dutch MFA, the European Parliament, and embassies worldwide.
