RSVP for "Education Equity: Claiming Space for Learning in Public Schools"
Join Women's Voices at The Heights (8001 Dale Ave., 63117) on November 14, 2019.
Doors open at 6:30 PM; event begins at 7:00 PM.

Speaker Inda Schaenen, MEd, MFA, PhD, is a St. Louis-based journalist, writer, and teacher. After two years in the Normandy School District, in 2015 she founded Project Lab St. Louis in collaboration with the district, which was buffeted by accreditation problems and community-wide trauma that affected students’ learning. ProjectLab St. Louis is a community-responsive classroom that has engaged hundreds of students from across the St. Louis region in collaborative projects in the humanities. In May, FOCUS St. Louis honored Project Lab St. Louis with a “What’s Right with the Region” award for improving equity and inclusion. Dr. Schaenen’s most recent book, "Speaking of Fourth Grade: What Listening to Kids Tells Us About Schools in America" is an oral history drawn from interviews with more than 165 children from a wide range of Missouri schools.
