Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Directors for Michigan Music Alliance!

We’re excited you’re interested in being part of Michigan Music Alliance’s Board. Board members play an important role in guiding our mission, supporting programs, and helping strengthen Michigan’s music ecosystem.

This form is the first step in helping us learn more about you — your experiences, interests, and what inspires you — and beginning a conversation about how you might get involved. The average board member contributes approximately 5–10 hours per month.

Board member terms begin each January and are typically three-year terms. Each year in early fall, the board reviews its composition and identifies potential gaps or areas of expertise that would strengthen the organization. As a statewide organization, we aim to build a board that reflects Michigan’s geographic diversity, a range of music genres and industry sectors, and a mix of skills including nonprofit, business, and community leadership experience.

We also want to note that there are many ways to support the work of Michigan Music Alliance. In addition to board service, we regularly welcome conference presenters and panelists, volunteers for events and initiatives, and other collaborators across the state’s music community.

Board members are expected to be current members of Michigan Music Alliance, and if you are not already a member, we warmly invite you to join.
