Geo Hack Week 2019 Application
Geo Hack Week 2019 (https://geohackweek.github.io) will happen September 9 - September 13, 2019 at the University of Washington, Seattle. Based on past experience, we're expecting to have more applications than spots. We would like to ask you to fill out the form below in order to be considered to attend Geo Hack Week before May 1, 2019. We will let you know about attendance by mid-May.

We will have a limited amount of travel funding available (there's a question at the end).

The workshop encourages collaboration between participants, rather than competition, and provides extensive opportunities each day for participants to work with each other. The meeting is aimed at geospatial scientists and researchers from other fields (including, but not limited to, statistics and computer science) with an interest in both geospatial and data science. We welcome applications from researchers at all stages in their careers, as well as from industry. In addition, we welcome participants from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels with data science-related methods and tools, from beginners to experts.

Participant selection will be made with the goal of enhancing the data science community within geospatial sciences, and we particularly encourage requests to attend from junior participants and people who are new to data-driven science.

You can read all about our participant selection procedure here: https://danielahuppenkothen.wordpress.com/2016/03/14/organizing-astro-hack-week-part-2-selecting-participants/

Finally, by completing this form you agree for your data to be used for the purpose of participant selection as well as demographic comparisons with past and future Geo Hack Weeks. We will not share your data beyond the organizers of Geo Hack Week or use it for any other purpose and we commit to anonymizing the data within a month of participant selection. Please email us if you have any questions or concerns or would like to revoke your content.
