Kickball Book Bowl: A town-wide extravaganza to benefit student access to the book fair & other programming throughout the upcoming school year!
Join us Saturday, July 19, at the ball field behind the elementary school for our first-ever kickball tournament! This event is a fundraiser to benefit book fair access and other school year program support, so that every student can participate when classes come around in the fall.
To get to the ball field, turn up Holton Hill from Main St. and go right at the fork. The parking lot will be on your right. Games will start at 9am, lasting no more than 45 minutes, and will continue until a champion emerges. We'll have teams of 9 people (all ages welcome) to keep things even. Suggested registration costs are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12, with the option to pay-what-you decide. You can register your whole team below (one form per team), or let us know if you'd like to be added to one.
Individuals will receive confirmation of registration and teams two days before the tournament begins. Same-day registration will also be available starting at 8am. Registration fees can be paid before the tournament via Venmo, PayPal, or in-person during the Civic's open hours, as well as on the 19th before games begin.
Like any good sporting event, there will be concessions, special prizes for the top three teams, and of course, participation ribbons for everyone on the field. Rules will be reviewed at the start of the tourney, and we'll have local, highly experienced umpires keeping every game on track.
No experience is necessary to participate in this once-in-a-summer competition, only a boundless will to have fun! And if you're more into spectating than playing, bring an appetite for popcorn and chair or a blanket to sit on while you watch the athletics unfold.
Got questions? Stop by the Civic during open hours, or email maria@thecivicstandard.org. See you on the field!
