KCWA has received a generous grant to do fuels reduction in the Kula Fire burn scar and beyond, and weʻre using these funds (and matching funds from other funding partners) to remove wattle that has regrown in the burn scar, as well as the burned and/or "standing dead" trees that are still in the burn zone.

This is part of KCWAʻs well-established, long-term mission to stabilize the burn zone and promote thoughtful,  native restoration and shaded green breaks in the place of harmful invasive forests. By eradicating this current flush of wattle trees, we are preparing the land for the next steps of restoration, which include fencing and planting with natives...with a vision of restoring watershed health and the health and safety of our communities.

By answering the questions below, you are signing up for this program. KCWAʻs team will contact you for a site visit and planning session next week (second week of May) and the work will happen before the end of the month. Our crews will include your property as "additional insured" on their insurance policies, for your protection.
