6med - Bursary Application
At 6med, we’re 100% committed to our goal of widening access to Medicine by levelling the playing field that’s been warped by corporations charging extortionate fees for their courses, and by “elite” schools giving their students help that others couldn’t even dream of.

We don’t want money to be a barrier to entry into Medicine, and while we’ve priced our courses significantly lower than our competitors, we understand that the price might still be too high for some students. That’s why we offer an unlimited number of bursaries to students for whom entry into Medicine is a realistic prospect but who, for whatever reason, would find it difficult to attend our courses on financial grounds.

If you’re a realistic medical/veterinary/dentistry applicant and feel you can’t afford the price we’re asking, please fill out the application form below as completely as you can. A big part of our decision-making process for bursaries is looking at the effort that goes into the application form, so we’d suggest spending a bit of time getting it right 🙂

Some more important stuff - we've got 3 main courses (UKCAT, BMAT and Interview) and an MMI Crash Course that just takes you through lots of MMI stations.

UKCAT Crash Course = £109 (min. £40)
BMAT Crash Course = £109 (min. £40)
Interview Crash Course = £139 (min. £60)
MMI Crash Course = £119 (min. £60)

The number in brackets is the minimum amount we usually ask bursary students to pay for each of the courses so that we don't lose money and go out of business. In very extenuating circumstances, we can reduce this further but you'll have to make a *very* compelling case if you'd like to pay less than the minimum amount.

Which of our 'stuff' would you like a bursary for? *
We don't offer bursaries for our interview courses unless you've got calls for interview already. So, if you've been invited to interview, and would like a bursary for the interview/MMI Crash Course then please indicate that in 'other' below and attach evidence of your interview invitation at the bottom of this form. Thanks!
How much are you willing and able to pay for the courses? *
Please see the point above about the minimum costs of each course. In general, the lower the number you quote here, the more carefully we'll be considering your application and looking at the evidence you provide.
Please write us a mini-essay explaining your financial circumstances and why you'd benefit from this bursary (approx 500 words). *
This is the most important section of this application. Remember, the more money-off you're asking for, the more effort you should put into this. Please write with proper spelling, punctuation and grammar etc - when you get into medical school, you'll have the opportunity to apply for lots of grants and funds for various things, and they always ask for a well-written explanation of why you'd benefit from the grant money. This will hopefully be good practice :)
Please attach any documentation/evidence of your financial status and/or a letter from your school explaining your situation.
