Hannah was raised in a deeply involved yet liberal Jewish household in NJ, and found that her faith could in fact justify and support, rather than prohibit and deny her own and others' need to transition. Simply put, she believes there is a place in religion for every transgender person who seeks it, it just might not be the sect you were assigned at birth.
Hannah believes in the modern State of Israel, and has led three delegations of Birthright for LGBTQ self-identified participants, having brought over a hundred Jewish young adults to Israel for the first time so far. Hannah's writing has been featured on Refinery29, Bustle, The Guardian, HuffPost, Moment Magazine, the Times of Israel, and others. She has been a guest on MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry Show and WNYW Fox 5’s Good Day New York.
