Flat Track Fever 2023 Officials Application
Chinook City Roller Derby, tournament head referee Jenn U. Whine and tournament head NSO DX Zone are thrilled to invite officials to the 10th anniversary edition of Flat Track Fever, May 12-14, 2023 at Acadia Rec Centre, Calgary, Alberta.

As derby slowly returns to "new normal", we expect to offer a tournament more like the Flat Track Fevers of previous years. The 2023 event will encompass two tracks for three days of derby.  The tournament will offer two MRDA sanctioned games, one JRDA sanctioned game, and one Level 1/2 junior game, with the rest (and majority of the games) being women's or open gender regulation games played under the current WFTDA / MRDA / JRDA rules, as appropriate, as of the date of the tournament.

We will require the majority of officials to plan to be potentially available from 9 am to 9 pm all three days of the tournament. However, we may have some limited availability to accommodate scheduling issues, please enquire with the head officials at jennuwhinederby@gmail.com or dxzone128@gmail.com.

This application will remain open until all positions are filled.    Early acceptance prior to the deadline may also be offered to qualified officials traveling from outside Alberta who need additional time to make travel arrangements; please contact the head officials if you wish to request this option.

For NSOs... FTF sometimes tries out experimental stuff and uses new technology or software. From 1 (not comfortable) to 5 (very comfortable) how do you feel about trying out new officiating procedures or technologies?

Dietary restrictions we need to know about for event-provided meals:
If listing allergies, it's super helpful if you tell us how we can help you manage; ie, do we just need to provide alternative foods, or do we need to keep this particular food out of the officials' room entirely?
Do you anticipate having any role at FTF 2023 other than as an official, such as playing or coaching? If so, please explain. Having another role does not automatically disqualify you from participating as an official but may affect your acceptance and / or scheduling.  *
Are Sanctioned games important to you for any goals as an official?
Clear selection
Is there anything else you would like the tournament heads to know about your application?
Please let us know if you have experienced any barriers to participating in derby as the result of being geographically isolated, or by your race, gender, religion, sexuality or any other factor, and you would like the leadership team to consider this as part of your application.
