Hand Sewing Summer Camp

No prior experience is necessary for young campers to get a head start on learning this invaluable, and increasingly rare skill in modern society. With only a needle and thread, students will learn the essentials of basic sewing. By the end of the course, they will be able to sew a line with a basic stitch, attach buttons and beads, hem cloth, and more, and be able to take home their very own handmade teddy bear, bag, or decorative plush heart (or other shape). The introductory skills taught in this course will come in handy at unexpected times throughout life, and can be expanded into infinite possibilities for either utility or artistic value should the student wish to learn (i.e. pillow case; curtain; apron etc.). This course will help develop and fine tune the motor skills of interested youths in a safe, supervised, and relaxed environment.
