What to expect:
During the work party, we will walk the approximately 1.5 miles of trails through the conservation area, clipping back vegetation and raking as we go. Staff may operate weedwhackers and/or chainsaws but will keep their distance from volunteers to reduce safety hazard and noise. The day's activities will involve bending and picking up small to medium sized vegetation. Most of our travel will be on trail. All trail maintenance techniques will be demonstrated during our orientation and no prior trail experience is required.
Ages: All ages welcome! (minor releases of liability required if under 18)
The Trust will provide tools, extra gloves, snacks, water, and hot drinks. If you would prefer to bring your own tools, we will be using loppers and rakes.
Supplies to bring:
Long sleeved shirt and pants, warm layers, rain gear, sturdy footwear, water for the day, snacks and lunch, and a backpack/bag to keep your personal belongings in during the work day.
