The Sunflower Festival at Alvis Farms 2020
The Sunflower Festival at Alvis Farms will look a little different this year, as we are just preparing to enter Phase 3 of COVID-19 re-opening after the uncertain Spring and beginning of Summer we've had.

The Sunflower Fields will be open to the public for one week, July 10-16. Our festival will be Friday - Sunday (July 10-12), and then we will have shortened hours during the week (July 13-16).

At our first-ever festival last year, attendees requested that we have on-site photographers in future years, to host mini-sessions. We are hoping to have 2-3 professional photographers each day, for the duration of the day. Each photographer will be expected to have an assistant to man their tent, and direct customers as to where they will meet the photographer for their session.

Event Times:
Monday - Thursday (8am - 10am) & (5pm - 8pm)
Friday - Sunday (9am - 8pm)

Set-up Times:
Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 7:30am (vehicles moved to designated vendor parking area by 7:30am) and 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Friday - Sunday: 7am - 8:30am (vehicles moved to designated vendor parking area by 8:30am)

Event Location:
Seay Road, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103 (1/2mile east from intersection of Shallow Well Rd and Seay Rd)
Event Dates
July 10-16
Photographer Application
We would like to have 2-3 photographers set up at the festival, with a sign-up for professionally-done pictures. We will be marking off a section of the field for accepted photographers and clients ONLY - feel free to bring props, etc. to set up in this area. We believe that this will encourage people to sign up for mini-sessions as they visit the festival. We will also be advertising on social media that we'll have professionals there to capture photos!

You are encouraged to advertise on social media etc., that you will be at the festival, accepting mini-sessions; having a schedule and signing clients up ahead of time is also accepted. Anyone who signs up with you ahead of time will still be expected to pay the $5 entry fee.

Each photographer should plan on having someone to man their tent and check-in/sign-up people for sessions. The tents will be a short walk from the field/photography area, so the assistant will send clients over to the photographer at the appropriate time, to ensure that you can maximize your time. If we have multiple photographers, we will designate an area for each, to ensure that you are meeting the correct clients, and that you can work alongside one another.

Please fill out the application below. Completing this application does not guarantee acceptance. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to confirm your acceptance as a vendor for this event. We want to ensure that we have an appropriate number of photographers for expected guests, to ensure success for everyone. We also plan to put you in contact with each other, so that you can discuss pricing and make sure you're all in the same range!
