Thank you for helping to insure the integrity of the 2025 Elections! This year, we will have 2 Jurisdictional Elections, plus a Special Primary and General Election for Congressional District 7.
Please read the following in order to understand the difference between Poll Workers, Watchers, Observers and Hand Count Auditors.
POLL WORKERS are hired by the County Elections Department to work at the polls on Election Day AND Early Voting Centers. There is training that the Elections Department conducts in order to become a poll worker. These are VERY important positions and many people are needed for this job. Poll Workers are paid. To apply to be a Poll Worker, please go directly to the following website:

POLL and ELECTION OBSERVERS are organized by the Parties to enter a polling location for the purpose of observing the voting process and to report any suspicious actions to a Party contact. They are required to attend a short training and to obtain a credential to officially enter the polling site. Observers are also needed to be at the County Elections Department to witness ballot counting in the tabulation center.
POLL WATCHERS are also organized by the Democratic Party, but on a more local basis. Poll Watchers must comply with all rules of the County Elections Department AND the requirements of the venue. They must stand outside of the 75 foot line that is marked by the Election Workers. Sometimes, "electioneering" is not allowed at certain locations. If allowed, poll watchers often pass out information to voters about candidates, ballot propositions, etc.
HAND COUNT AUDITORS are required AFTER the General Election to audit the vote count in select precincts and races. This can 1-3 days, depending on the size of the election.
