Overview
The Provo Farmers Market is seeking a qualified individual to professionally manage the day-to-day needs of the Market and operate the Market each Saturday, June through the end of October and is open for business from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 500 West Center Street, Provo, Utah. After the first Saturday of September, the Market moves the opening time to 10:00 a.m. Market staff typically spends two hours prior and one hour after the Market to manage setup and takedown. The Farmers Market is a private 501(c)(4) corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. More information about the market is available at http://www.provofarmersmarket.com/

Core Responsibilities (negotiable):
-Act as principal spokesperson with customers as it relates to activities of the entire market, addressing concerns and assisting with questions. The Executive Director is expected to attend and manage the majority of market day unless otherwise negotiated as approved by the Board of Directors.
-Works collaboratively with the Board of Directors to identify concerns and issues and makes recommendations for governance and market functions and activities.
-Oversees the market website.
-Promotes attendance through social media and marketing activities throughout the season: specifically is responsible for the tone and quality of regular weekly and daily postings.
-Schedules entertainment and special activities.
-Coordinates and executes sponsorships and fundraising.
-Actively seeks new vendors that meet market guidelines.
-Manages the application process, as well as handling inquiries from vendors and the public.
-Obtains and manages volunteers or staff as needed.
-Prepares the market budget for Board review and approval. Provides financial reporting to the Board and provides all necessary information to Board officers and independent auditors.
-Manages market finances, including the management of SNAP/UDUFB
-Works with city and county officials to obtain proper permits, site acquisition and meet other regulatory needs.
-Meets regularly with the Board of Directors and works with the Board Chair to organize, set and distribute the agenda for each meeting.

-Strong passion for the mission and vision of the Provo Farmers Market and a desire to foster the growth of locally grown food and artisan product industries.
-Event planning and time management skills.
-Experience in preparing budget and administering organizational finances.
-Fundraising and grant writing.
-Vendor and business recruitment.
-Strong computer and technology skills.
-Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication and conflict resolution skills with all constituents including Board, farmers/producers, government and the public.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills including public speaking and media outreach, including social media.
-Successful track record growing an organization and programs, building coalitions and developing new partnerships.
-Budget preparation and financial organizational management.
-A self-starter, cooperative, proactive, flexible, friendly, creative, and community-minded.
- Understanding of local health codes and government regulations relative to the market.
- Knowledge of local food-production, artisan, and local cottage industries is desirable.

Negotiable depending on finalization of duties and commensurate with experience.
