Criteria For Student Success in Digital Learning
It is important to recognize that learning in the digital environment is often more challenging than in the classroom. A consistent routine is important for students and we encourage families to set aside at least 4 hours of time each school day to be dedicated to the students school tasks. Students will need to be monitored by an adult in their household to ensure that students are staying on task and completing their work on time.
For students to be successful in the digital learning environment families must be committed in the following ways.
Please check all that apply for your student and your family.
Student is self motivated
A parent or guardian is available to facilitate the student's learning progress
The student has an environment that is conducive for learning.
Parent or guardian is able to pick up materials from the home school as required.
Student is able to engage with the full course load each week.
Parent or guardian is available to ensure that the student is meeting their assigned due dates.
Student is able to both attend scheduled Zoom sessions and work independently (with parental/guardian facilitation) as scheduled by the teacher.
The student currently has or will have the devices recommended above by May 3, 2021.
It is important that the students have access to an internet connection during the school day.
My student will have access to a working internet connection.
I do not have a working internet connection at this time.
For student success it is important that there is someone at home to check in with students and ensure that assigned tasks are being completed and that students are attending the necessary Zoom sessions.
I am prepared to assist my student with organization of their schedule (Zoom attendance) and task completion.
Orientation to Digital Learning
It is important that both the parent/guardian and the student attend the orientation session and complete the required technology lessons. The orientation will consist of a Zoom meeting (either during the day or in the evening) and the completion of a set of technology lessons specific to your student's grade. Both the orientation session and the technology lessons must be completed before your student begins their online classes with the Digital Learning School.
I agree to complete an orientation session and technology lessons with my student

Printed Materials and Book Distribution
Printing of learning materials is available for families who would like it. Families are required to pick up the printed class materials each week (Friday afternoons) at the student's home school.
Library material and some class books will also be distributed using this system. Families will be notified if there is a book that needs to be picked up.
I would like materials printed for my student and I will make weekly pick ups as required.
I will look after printing materials at home
