Background of the disease:Allergic rhinitis (commonly referred as allergic cold) with very common symptoms such as sneezing, itching, nasal congestion and rhinorrhea often remains undiagnosed in many individuals in the world. According to World Health Organization (WHO), this affects 10-30% of world population. However, in India no such study of prevalence was conducted in particular to study allergic rhinitis. Unofficially, it was suggested by researchers that approximately, 20-30% of Indians suffer from at least one allergic disease.
