Family involvement in a child’s education is a key factor in raising confident and successful kids. The Escuela Valdez PTO has a goal of 100% family involvement. We’re asking that each family commit just 2 hours of volunteer time this school year. What you do with those 2 hours is up to you! There are some opportunities that take more time and some less. Some require you at the school and some you can do from home or on your own time. There is something to fit everyone’s time & talent!

I am interested in volunteering to make a difference in our school: (Please check any below. The lists are examples of the type of help needed, not that you’re committed to doing all items listed)

Events - planning, preparing materials, staffing, set up, clean up. Events include Dia de los Muertos, Dia Del Nino, etc.

Communications - sort email, update website, social media posting, translation, create newsletters/flyers, make copies

Enrichment committee - help set up enrichment activities, host a class, volunteer in a class, help with set up and snack coordination

Fundraising committee - help communicate about family subscription program, contact potential donors through emails and phone calls, data entry, dining out coordination, fundraising event help (Scholastic Book Fair, Fun Run)

Finance and accounting

Family engagement - recruit volunteers, classroom liaisons, research other PTO/PTAs for new ideas, communicate with teachers

Recognition - coordinate appreciation for teachers, send cards, purchase teacher supplies

On call volunteer - be available to help when needed
