Pacific Northwest Black Pride (PNW Black Pride), with support from the Social Justice Fund and the Seattle Foundation’s Empowered Voices Initiative, is recruiting 10 Black LGBTQ+ residents to serve as Civic Engagement Ambassadors. Selected ambassadors will receive an $800 stipend to participate in leadership training and community engagement efforts.
Ambassadors will help form a workgroup and organize, register, and mobilize Black LGBTQ+ communities through:
- Voter registration and nonpartisan voter outreach
- Civic education workshops
- Organizing and healing justice training
- Community engagement and advocacy campaigns
Eligibility
- Identify as Black and LGBTQ+
- Resident of Washington State
- Age 18 or older
- Passion for civic engagement, organizing, and community empowerment
Ambassador Commitment
Selected ambassadors agree to:
- Participate in two training workshops (Organizing & Healing Justice; Civic Engagement & Voter Outreach)
- Complete at least 20 voter registration sign-ups or outreach engagements
- Support two community events led by PNW Black Pride
- Submit a short reflection or report at the end of the program
Stipend
Each Civic Engagement Ambassador will receive an $800 stipend upon completion of the program requirements.
