Petition to Instate Zebra Crossing outside Downham Feoffees Primary School

We, the undersigned, call for the Local Highways Improvement Agency to approve a bid for funding – submitted by local mum and childminder Emma Turrell – to install a crossing outside Downham Feoffees Primary School, Main Street, Little Downham. The school has 204 pupils aged between 4 and 11 and 24 members of staff as well as elderly residents living nearby, many of whom need to cross the road on a daily basis. The risk to pedestrians is apparent, especially at the key school collection times of 9am and 3pm. This is exacerbated by a sharp bend in the road close to where children cross.
