For many years, the Council for the Arts at MIT has subsidized faculty requests for a limited number of tickets for their classes to experience a play, concert, show or exhibition that is part of course curricula through the CAMIT Tickets for Classes Program. This new resource, best described as the inverse to the popular Tickets program, is intended to subsidize faculty requests to arrange a curricular visit by an artist guest speaker.
Retroactive support is not available and off-cycle requests will be considered subject to available funds. When possible, preference will be given to applications for visits that are organized in collaboration with multiple sections, professors, courses, departments, and/or schools or universities.
The deadline to request spring 2019 funding from the Artist Guest Speaker Program is February 5 and applicants will be notified by February 12. Recipients will be expected to submit a final attendance report to email@example.com after the lecture is completed. If you have any questions, please email Lydia Brosnahan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: this program is intended to bring artists to campus for brief visits and should not be used as a substitute for or a supplement to artist residencies with CAST or other programs.
