Description: Students will practice mindfulness by writing and recording original guided meditation narratives. In this workshop, students will learn principles of guided meditations and how to write calming, focused narratives in order to increase self-awareness and reduce stress.

In the morning, we will take students through stations where they will listen to and analyze an example of a guided meditation podcast, practice breathing and mindfulness exercises, and brainstorm about peaceful settings/environments through a visual art project. Then, students will draft a guided meditation adventure narrative using second person point-of-view.

In the afternoon, students will record their podcasts with help from a teaching artist from the American Conservatory Theater. At the end of the field trip, each participant will have recorded an original guided meditation adventure that students and teachers alike can use in their lives and classrooms.
