Business Reentry Registration
The fastest way for a community to recover from a major disaster is by helping local businesses return to normal operations as quickly as possible. The Governor of South Carolina has approved into law a new measure that provides a system for post-disaster reentry certification for businesses and organizations that assist in the restoration of utilities and other services. The South Carolina Emergency Management Division and the S.C. Department of Commerce will coordinate the post-disaster reentry certification program. Please provide the following information to begin the reentry certification process.
NOTE: ONLY ONE REGISTRATION NUMBER IS REQUIRED FOR BUSINESSES WITH MULITPLE LOCATIONS AND EMPLOYEES WHO NEED TO RETURN FOLLOWING AN EVACUATION.
This reentry certification process does NOT prohibit local public safety officials from denying access to an area deemed unsafe. County emergency managers may have separate, local procedures for businesses wishing to gain access to the county after an evacuation. You will need to check with the local, county emergency management office for local emergency management ordinances.
