PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THIS DOCUMENT AS IT AFFECTS YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WAIVERS OF RIGHTS, LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT/RUN (HEREINAFTER “EVENT”) YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION, AS DETAILED BELOW.

PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration of being permitted to participate in any event, program, or activity, including but not limited to road races, group runs, group walks, training sessions, community fitness events, virtual challenges, remote participation activities, and any future related activities, whether conducted in person or virtually (collectively, the “Events”) organized, hosted, or sponsored by the Event Director, Strava, Latinas Run, Latinos Run, United 2 Run, and any and all affiliated organizations, partners, sponsors, and their respective directors, officers, agents, representatives, volunteers, contractors, and employees (collectively, the “Released Parties”), I, the undersigned participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby agree to the following:

I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any and all risks, known or unknown, associated with my participation in the Events. I understand that participation in running, walking, and group fitness activities, whether conducted in person or virtually, and whether on roads, sidewalks, trails, treadmills, gyms, or other public or private property, is inherently hazardous and may involve risks including, but not limited to, falls, collisions with other participants, pedestrians, or vehicles, equipment failure, uneven surfaces, traffic conditions, weather conditions including extreme heat or cold, acts of other participants, inadequate safety measures, and other unforeseen hazards. I acknowledge that such risks may result in serious injury, illness, permanent disability, or death, as well as damage to or loss of personal property.

I understand that virtual participation may take place without supervision or support from the Released Parties, and I accept full responsibility for selecting a safe environment, route, equipment, and conditions for my participation. I acknowledge that the Released Parties have no control over the conditions in which I choose to participate virtually and assume no responsibility for my safety in such circumstances.

I certify that I am physically fit, adequately trained, and medically able to participate in the Events, and that I have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. I understand that it is my sole responsibility to consult with a physician prior to participation if I have any health concerns. I agree to comply with all applicable rules, guidelines, and instructions provided by the Released Parties and to exercise reasonable judgment and care for my own safety and the safety of others at all times during participation.

I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my personal safety, conduct, and well-being while participating in the Events. I agree to follow all traffic laws, pedestrian regulations, and safety practices, and I understand that the Released Parties are not responsible for monitoring or enforcing my compliance with such laws or practices. I further acknowledge that participation may occur in open or uncontrolled environments where hazards are not managed, and I accept full responsibility for navigating such conditions.

I hereby waive, release, and discharge the Released Parties from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, costs, or causes of action of any kind, whether known or unknown, arising out of or related to my participation in the Events, including but not limited to any claims resulting from negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This release applies to any and all injuries, losses, or damages sustained by me before, during, or after the Events, including participation in any future Events organized or associated with the Released Parties.

I understand and agree that this waiver and release is binding upon me and my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, and assigns.

In the event of illness, injury, or medical emergency during my participation, I authorize the Released Parties to obtain medical care on my behalf, including transportation to a medical facility if deemed necessary. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for any and all costs associated with such medical care, including but not limited to emergency transportation, treatment, medications, and hospitalization.

I agree to comply with all applicable public health guidelines and requirements, including those issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as any state, local, or event-specific health and safety protocols in effect at the time of participation.

I grant permission to the Released Parties to use my name, image, likeness, voice, and any photographs, video recordings, or other media captured during my participation in the Events, whether in person or submitted or shared virtually, for legitimate promotional, marketing, or informational purposes, in any format or medium, now known or hereafter developed, without compensation or further consent.

I acknowledge that all event registrations are final and non-refundable. I understand that the Released Parties reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any Event at their discretion due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to weather conditions, public safety concerns, or emergencies, and that no refunds will be issued in such cases. I further understand that event entries and registrations are non-transferable unless explicitly authorized.

I acknowledge that my participation in any Event is contingent upon my agreement to this waiver and release. By registering for and participating in the Events, I confirm that I have carefully read, fully understand, and voluntarily agree to all terms and conditions stated herein.

If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to this waiver on behalf of the minor participant and accepts full responsibility for the minor’s participation under the terms outlined above.
