Skate City STEM Field Trip Permission Slip
  • This trip is for all 8th grade students.  If you do not attend, there will be an alternative assignment that is required of you and will be for a grade.  
  • We will be going to Skate City in Arvada/Westminster from 1030 - 230pm on 11/8 and 11/11.  The schedule is as follows:
  • 11/08 - Kelsey, Martin, Wilson, Conner, Jones, Nelson, Schmelzer, Murnan, Donohue, English access classes
  • 11/11 - Hippely, O'Brien, Swartz, Hoeft, Smanyaphirak, Towber access classes
  • The cost of the trip is $16 per student, which includes transportation, a 60 minute STEM lesson, skate rental, three hours of free skate and arcade time, and a complimentary skating pass for a future visit.  
  • The $16 can be paid online as it has been added as a fee for all 8th grade students OR you can write a check made out to Drake Middle School OR pay cash  
  • $5 lunch specials will be available or you can bring a sack lunch.  **THIS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE $16 FEE.**
  • Students can bring additional money for the arcade or to purchase items at the snack bar, if desired.  
  • Students are welcome to bring their own skates, if desired. 
  • Students will be attending 1st period and 7th period on the day of the trip.
  • PERMISSION SLIPS ARE DUE BY TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH!

Note:  The principal shall grant a waiver for students eligible for free or reduced lunch under the National Income Poverty guidelines.  You are not required to pay any field trip fees if your student qualifies for free or reduced lunch.  Should you choose to pay the field trip amount it will be considered a donation to your student for the field trip.
