Worship and Missions: Worship is where God's grace is made real to us through the sacraments, the word, music, and more. One of our responses to the gift of faith is making a difference in the wider community. Worship & Missions is how we live out our invitation to love God and all our neighbors.
Do you play a musical instrument and would like to join our special orchestras during the holidays or play a piece during worship? If yes, share what musical instrument you play.
Care: We are known by the love we share with one another and our Care Committee lives that out everyday. Not everyone who offers care participates in our Care Committee but they are the ones who oversee our prayer chain, prison ministry, Knit 1 Crochet Too, meals, and more. How can you serve those connected with CLC?
CLC-Women is an active group of women who oversee a variety of projects at CLC. Through fellowship and service, they embody the love, grace, and faith we see in those who were the first to proclaim the resurrection of Jesus Christ. CLC-Women run our annual Trash and Treasure Sale, School Kit Drive with Church World Service, and more.
CLC's Property is a big part of our ministry. We have been blessed with a building that allows us to worship, welcome, and serve all people. It takes time and energy to have a space that is welcoming to all who use it. The Property Committee keeps the building in tip top shape so we can serve the variety of groups who use our building as well as being a place where the good news of Jesus is fleshed out in physical ways.
The Genesis Garden was started 40 years ago and has provided local food pantries thousands of pounds of fresh produce. This all-volunteer endeavor delivered 1,750 lbs of vegetables to the Tri-Boro Food Pantry in 2025. You don't need a green thumb to feed those in need and people at all ages can participate.
CLC's Finance and Stewardship Teams make sure your financial gifts further the mission of CLC.  They plan, implement, and monitor the Annual Church Budget, maintain financial record keeping and reporting,  review the insurance program, manage the church's investment accounts, assist as a resource in legal and business matters, organize the annual audit, and recommend changes to the church council (CLC's board of directors). The Finance Committee meets monthly and the Stewardship Team as needed.
Education was at the heart of Jesus' ministry and is also at the heart of ours. Growing in faith involves spending intentional time with our Bible and with God. Education is bigger than Sunday School and your gifts can help others discover the love God already has for them.
Evangelism isn't something only for other people. Evangelism is our responsibility to share our faith with others. Through simple acts of invitation, care, and service, we invite others into a deeper relationship with God.
Special Gifts oversees the process we developed to faithfully and prayerfully manage the annual gift we receive from the Anna and Dominick Ricci Foundation. Anna and Dominick were former members who wanted their legacy to continue at CLC and other non-profits in our area. The committee typically meets a few times in the fall and forwards recommendations to the Church Council which are then passed on to the entire Congregation.
How else is God calling you? If you have fun skill such as flower arranging, car repair, gift wrapping, calligraphy, making balloon animals, share it here. And if there's anything else you'd like to share, please do!
