Eco Champ! Nomination form
Do you know an Eco Champ? Are you an Eco Champ? Eco Champs are individuals or groups in our Cedar Rapids and nearby communities that care about environmental health and work hard to bring that passion to wherever they are--school, work, at home or outside.

The Eco Champ! Awards are new and will for the first time be part of the annual Eco Fest celebration. This year, Eco Fest is held on Saturday, April 20, from 10-4pm, at NewBo City Market.

How to nominate: You may nominate yourself or group you're part of, or you can nominate another worthy individual or group. Selected Eco Champs will be recognized at Eco Fest on April 20. Winners will receive a framed "Eco Champ!" letter of recognition, presented by Cedar rapids' Mayor Hart.

Eco Champs take action in any or all places--could be at home, in the community, at work, or as a student or teacher. Actions like reducing waste, conserving water and electricity, biking to work or school, or picking up litter are common actions an Eco Champ may take. Green Teams often take shape at schools and at work--and those groups can be nominated, as well.

Eco Champs can be younger people or older people, individuals or groups. If you have someone in mind or know yourself to be an Eco Champ, do not hesitate to fill out the nomination.

Judging the applications: The Eco Fest committee will judge all applications and score each on a scale of 1-10. In the judging process, two bonus points may be available. 1 bonus point is given if the nomination is a person or group that you are are not part of. 1 bonus point can be awarded if the application describes how the Eco Champ nominee incorporates social or community health or relationship building in some way.
