Project Opportunities
Retention & Academic Support – Retention interns support peer led initiatives focused on increasing educational equity for underserved communities. Additional tasks include but are not limited to event promotion, assessment and facilitating inter and cross community dialogues. Students with an interest in community organizing or ethnic studies are encouraged to apply.
Recruitment – Recruitment interns work collaboratively with program coordinators by attending weekly outreach visits to middle school, high school or community colleges. Recruitment interns assist in the planning of youth/transfer conferences and creating a comprehensive syllabus based on students needs. Students with an interest in education are encouraged to apply.
Administrative – Administrative interns will assist with the management of program logistics, budgeting, communication and the recruitment of volunteers. Administrative interns should be detail oriented and have a willingness to learn how to use various databases.
Student Director – Student Director interns will gain hands on leadership experience via program assessment, and management. Students with an interest in community organizing, political science or ethnic studies are encouraged to apply.
Graphics & Marketing – Graphic & Marketing interns will work across programs with a coordinator to design multiple forms of media publicizing the SRRC and its initiatives. Students with an interest in marketing and graphic design are encouraged to apply. (Applicable to entire SRRC, not a single program).
Campus Visits – Campus Visit interns will be expected to assist in organizing and leading tours for non-UCD students and become familiar with the resources available at UCD. Students with a love of the UCD campus and an interest in tourism or ethnic studies are encouraged to apply. (Applicable only to Collective).
