Description of possible research duties:>>Help with one-time mussel bed measurements and field collections>>Monitor field experiment near Long Marine Lab: includes photographing plots, counting dead mussels, and cleaning cages>>Process mussel samples, including photographing and measuring shells>>Possibly collecting and processing water samples to measure pH>>Observing snail predation in the lab>>Analyzing mussel beds from photos
Requirements: >>Good at following directions and working independently>>Pays close attention to details>>Communicates well>>Enthusiastic>>To help with one-time collections: able to climb down high cliff sides and work very early in cold/windy intertidal conditions for 5 hours>>To help with field experiment: same as above plus must be available for multiple sampling times (once every 2 weeks this summer; specific dates TBD)>>To help with lab work: must be able to commit several hours per week for several weeks (on your own schedule)
