- In the application form below, please provide a description and a sketch or image of your proposed chalk art piece. In addition, please supply some examples of relevant work (in any medium).
- There is no fee to participate in the Festival; all accepted artists will receive a stipend of $100 per completed chalk drawing.
- Only non-oil based soft chalk/pastels in a solid form may be used.
- Your canvas will be an approximately 5’x5’ section of cement located in downtown Northampton, primarily on Main Street. If all of the available 5’x5’ sections are assigned, you may be offered a site with a different configuration. Specific sites will be assigned at random.
- You may work on your drawing from 8am - 4pm on the day of the Festival. Entries will then be reviewed by a panel of judges, and three special prizes of $300, $200 and $100 will be awarded on the steps of City Hall at approximately 5pm.

You may also submit this application via snail mail to the Downtown Northampton Association, 150 Main Street Suite 34, Northampton, MA 01060. Applications will be reviewed once received and you will be contacted shortly to confirm entry into the Festival.
