Roma and Sinti Community Curators Programme Application

A Collaboration between the Wiener Holocaust Library and Fortunoff Archives

Our Roma and Sinti Community Curators project creates a space for Roma and Sinti voices to take the lead in preserving and sharing the histories of the Roma and Sinti during the Holocaust. We are inviting a small group of Roma and Sinti community members to join us in this important work.

The project will include biweekly workshops at the Wiener Holocaust Library in London between April and June, with a teaching team comprising Library staff and academics such as Dr Justyna Matkowska. In these workshops, the group will critically engage with the Fortunoff Archive testimonies, supported by the International Tracing Service and the Library’s own collections, using relevant materials such as eye-witness accounts, photographs, documents and books.

Together we will work towards co-producing a small exhibition to be displayed in the Reading Room at the Library. We would also welcome creative responses to the material which could include visual art, performance or poetry, which we envision being shared at the Library and with the Roma and Sinti community at a launch event for the exhibition.

Please note, you will be reimbursed for your food and UK travel.

Deadline to apply: Friday 28th March at 11pm
