David Hamilton Smith Fraternity & Sorority Alumni Award Nomination Form
The David Hamilton Smith Award celebrates fraternity and sorority alumni who have shown exceptional dedication to their organization, the FSL and/or OWU community, or have distinguished themselves in their profession.

This honor is a lifetime achievement award given to a living OWU alumni/ae who graduated as a member in good standing of any NIC/NPC/NPHC fraternity or sorority. Please be as specific as possible in your letter regarding their work. Nominees must have graduated at least 10 years prior to the date of their nomination; self-nominations are acceptable.

Nominations are due annually by October 31, for recognition the following year. Nominations will remain in consideration for 3 years from date of receipt. Nominees may be renominated.

Pictured below is the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, which was originally named for the primary donor, Dr. David Hamilton Smith ’53, and his mother, Mary Josephine Williams Smith ’17. It was dedicated on September 6, 1991 and is known as the heart of Ohio Wesleyan and a central meeting place for students.
