Kaity's Way advocates for healthy teen relationships by providing education, skills and tools to youth and their allies. The Kaity's Way Scholarship is available to students who plan to enroll at a Maricopa County Community College District campus sometime between August 1, 2018 and November 1, 2018, and major in any of the following public service fields:
Education & Teaching Criminal Justice Community Health Worker Behavioral Health Social Work Volunteer Coordination Nonprofit Management Fire Fighter/EMT/Paramedic
To be considered, you must submit a 400-600 word essay on the topic of teen dating violence, and a 400-600 word essay explaining:
1. Applicants need for the scholarship.2. Educational goals in the public service field.3. What you have done to further your educational goals?4. How will this scholarship help you to attain those goals?5. Describe your volunteer experience.
Essays must reflect the students' own research and original writing. Students must submit two (2) letters of recommendation:• Personal (ex. friend, pastor, employer, co-worker)• Academic (ex. teacher, coach, academic advisor)
The scholarship recipient and up to two parents will be guests of Kaity’s Way at the Signature event, Step Against Teen Dating Violence, held in September where a formal announcement will take place.
All applications and essay submissions should be received online, time-stamped by no later than March 31, 2018 11:59 pm. Transcripts and letters of recommendation can be submitted via email to email@example.com or by postal service, Kaity’s Way P.O. Box 83494, Phoenix, AZ 85071. All submissions must be postmarked and time-stamped no later than June 1, 2018 11:59 pm. Applications not meeting the above mentioned criteria will not be considered or retained for future consideration.
Please note, Kaity’s Way employees, board members, volunteers and their families are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
