The Chapter Board is entrusted with the power to conduct the business of the Chapter, which includes events, communications, participation in national programs, fundraising, community outreach and recruitment of leaders and volunteers. Requirements for Board membership comprise current membership, 75% attendance at Board meetings, active engagement in Chapter activities, and promotion of membership. Per our current by-laws, Board member terms are typically for three years
At minimum, all Board members are also expected to engage in active communication with each other. This includes, but is not limited to, responding to emails and attending Board meetings on a regular basis, as suggested above.

Slow Food Columbus seeks to create dramatic and lasting change toward a more sustainable food system. Currently, our top priorities are (1) to create sustainable events centered around good, clean, AND fair food, and (2) to support school gardens. We anticipate that additional priorities will be taken on given the combined strengths of our current and new Board members. Having said this, what interests you about Slow Food Columbus? What aspects of Slow Food are you most passionate about?
Please describe below how you can contribute by being a Board member. For example, do you have any expertise in maintaining websites, promoting events, writing grants, connecting producers and consumers, etc.?
Have you spoken to one of our current or former Board members and/or know of someone on the Board who would recommend you? If so, please type their name(s) here.
Please include below any additional information you would like us to consider when making our new Board member selections.
