Anonymous Parent Survey about Belonging at CSD

Dear CSD Parent Community,

As part of the Basic School framework and our CSD mission and vision, we view you as your child’s first and most important teachers and you are the experts on your own children. We are the educators who plan curriculum, instruction, and programs for all the children here at CSD. However, we are also committed to partnering with you on behalf of your children.  The more we know, the better we can serve your child.

CSD's Statement of Belonging (also found on our website www.csdspartans.org under the DEIB tab)

At CSD, we strive to build connections and belonging for every family. Connection and belonging give purpose and meaning to our lives.  Research states that students with a high sense of belonging are happier, healthier, and more engaged learners. We are committed to doing all that we can to make sure that EVERY parent and EVERY child feels connection and belonging in our school community, BUT….we need your help. We need your insight. We need your perspective. We consider the individual conversations that we have with our parents to be the most important and powerful building blocks to form strong and trusting relationships. These conversations help us to understand your individual family perspectives and better understand the needs of your children.  We also acknowledge that not every parent feels comfortable speaking up when they have concerns but the thought of anyone “suffering silently,”  makes us deeply saddened.  Your insight and lived experiences in our school community matter to us.

You matter. Your children matter.

You are important to us. Your children are important to us.

You belong here. Your children belong here.

Please complete the anonymous parent survey attached here to help us better know all the families and perspectives at CSD. This survey will be sent annually each fall to help us continue in our efforts to support every family and student who walks through our doors. The survey contains nine multiple choice/open-ended questions and two optional questions.

Thank you,

CSD Administration
