The mission of USTA Southwest is to promote and develop the growth of tennis. We offer grants to help providers start up or expand community tennis activities. Grants submitted to USTA Southwest are reviewed through the Grants Committee for review. We measure success through participation, retention, partnerships, diversity, and innovation.

There are seven Community Tennis Program Grant types are available:

New Program Launch (up to $1000)

Intended for organizations creating a first-time tennis program that has not previously been offered. Grant funds help cover initial costs and provide a foundation for long-term growth.

USTA Coach Support (up to $500)

This grant supports USTA Coaches organizing community tennis programs. Funding may be used for coordinator compensation or coaching education expenses.

Laurie Martin High School Team (up to $500)

Available to high school tennis coaches. Funds can support balls, racquets, shoes for players, replacement nets, ball hoppers, ball tubes, training aides, green dot balls, etc.

Community Equipment Package (up to $400)

A customized equipment package for organizations with existing tennis programs. Equipment can include balls (red, orange, green or yellow), racquets, and/or mini-nets.

School PE Equipment Package (up to $300)

Tennis equipment for PE programs introducing tennis during the school day. Intended to supplement supplies received from USTA National equipment package

Adult Education Scholarship (up to $300)

For any active tennis provider seeking assistance for coaching education to attend a tennis industry workshop or training either in person or virtual (reimbursement upon return).

This includes (not limited to) USTA Officials, High School Coaches, NJTL Directors, Wheelchair Tennis Instructors, PE Teachers, and Parks/Recreation Professionals

Tennis Event Support (up to $300)

Designed to support tennis events or tournaments for youth, adults, or families. Events costs are reimbursed and providers must use the USTA Serve Tennis platform.
