ONP's mission is to provide one day of fun and fantasy during the holiday season for Chicago area families who are battling the emotional, as well as financial stress of dealing with a life threatening or terminal illness of one or more of their children. Each year ONP sponsors a Fantasy Trip to the North Pole for a visit with Santa and Mrs.Claus. Many of the selected families find it difficult to provide their children with gifts during the holidays because their priorities are different than our own. That is why ONP does what they do, in order to give families a chance to have a Christmas together, which very well may be their last. We as a Quarter Team will be volunteering at ONP's events throughout November and December to help make their Fantasy Trip possible. We are also working to get us into the Convention Center on the day of the Fantasy Trip and have the opportunity to work with the kids and their families.
Below are a few service opportunities ONP has notified us about. We ask that everyone sign up for a minimum of TWO events. It would be ideal if everyone can do three and we encourage people to try, but knowing high school schedules, if you can only do two, please do two.
The dates below are what we received from the organization and may change slightly. We will let you know of any major changes and we will send out specific times. If a change affects your ability to be at an event please email Anthony.
For events that fall on school days we ask that you just go after school or after practice and stay for an hour or two. Parking is free for volunteers.
