Secondary Instrumental and Vocal Lesson Program

Dear Parent/Guardian and Student,

The music department is again implementing an after-school lesson program for all instrumental and vocal students enrolled in King Philip performing ensembles. Please read this letter carefully and complete the form/link below by Friday, September 15, 2017.

Private Lessons are strongly encouraged for all student musicians. The lesson program is designed to offer student musicians an opportunity to study with a specialist on a one-to-one basis. This will not replace existing class lessons, but offer advanced training in technique, solo literature, and musicianship.

Our teaching staff is exceptional. All play and teach professionally throughout the Boston area.
Each child will receive expert instruction on their chosen instrument.

All lessons are held after school at King Philip Regional High School. Scheduling will be done to accommodate as many students as possible. When requesting times please indicate three windows of at least 90 minutes. Please note that the staff is not available every day.

Each student and teacher will be responsible for 28 lessons between the first week in October and the first week in May. The remainder of the year will be used for makeup lessons.

The collection of the lesson fees is coordinated by me with the assistance of the KPMA treasurer and lesson payment coordinator.

There are two payment periods, with school vacations calculated into the equation, during the course of the year. Semester 1 is from October through the end of January, and Semester 2 is from February through the first full week of May. Lessons will be billed on a semester basis however you can pay in a manner that is most convenient to you (i.e. weekly, monthly, lump sum). Payment for Semester 1, however, must be paid by the end of January. Your student's teacher will contact you to begin lessons in October.

Please do not allow financial concerns as a reason not to participate. The King Philip Music Association is available for financial assistance if needed. Any financial arrangements will be kept confidential. Previous balances from past years need to be addressed before a lesson can be scheduled for this coming year.

Divide the first half of the year by 4 and the second half by 3 for monthly installment payments and by the number of sessions(16 or 12 for weekly installments). All payments should be made out to the King Philip Music Association(KPMA). Checks can be placed in Karen Wolf's mailbox in the band room or sent to P.O. Box 508, Wrentham, MA 02093. Please do not deduct payments for any missed lessons. The lesson instructor will provide your student with 28 lessons and they will make up any missed lessons unless proper notice was not given by the student.
Please let us know if your student needs financial assistance through the KPMA. We never want finances to limit student participation.
