The African Union Commission Department for Trade and Industry is working together with i4policy and other innovation community leaders in Africa to organize the largest-ever gathering of community innovation hubs on the continent.
This will take place on May 6-7 and on the sidelines of the Transform Africa Summit in Kigali (May 8-9). All participants of the hub gathering will be invited to participate in the Transform Africa program, and several hub manager participants will have the opportunity to speak before the Summit in panel discussions.
*This will not be a talk shop*The outcome of this meeting is expected to be the formation of an official body of the African Union. This body will formalize an alliance between community innovation leaders and policy makers to design a better regulatory and policy environment to accelerate Africa's digital transformation.
The materials for the meeting will be circulated publicly in advance for your input, and we will be endeavoring to transparently broadcast the activities of this meeting for our wider communities to participate and follow along.
i4policy and our partners are raising funds to bring as many hub managers and community innovation leaders as possible. Where selections must be made, we will invite hubs, networks and community innovation catalysts with a view to maximizing diversity (geographic, linguistic, gender identities, and hub focus areas) and prioritizing community strength and experience (measured against responses in section 2).
