SHS Guys and Dolls Tryouts Form
Join us for our first season in the new venue at SHS. We will open with The Tony Award winning, Guys and Dolls.   This story is set in 1950s New York City and Cuba, and follows the escapades of our gamblers and the girls that love them. Don't miss your chance to be a part of our amazing production and try out theatre!  

Tryout Dates: 
  • Music Tryouts: Tuesday, August 25th from 3-6 pm. Sign-ups for a  time slot are located at this link Tryout Signup Genius . Please prepare a one minute cut of a song of your choice, and please bring accompaniment tracks.  Room A114
  • Dance Tryouts: Wednesday, August 26th from 3-4:30 pm  (Wear comfy clothes and bring a water bottle) Everyone comes for the full time. In the Wrestling Room
  • If you want to be considered for a part, you will need to come to both music and dance tryouts. If you only want to be considered for the dance ensemble, just come to the dance tryout.

  • Callbacks will be by invitation on Friday, August 26th from 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. Performances are November 12th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 20th, & 21st

STUDENTS: BEFORE YOU AUDITION, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFO WITH YOUR PARENT/GUARDIAN.
Being a member of the cast of a school production is an honor and privilege. Much will be expected from you. Your dedication and hard work during rehearsals will help create the magic that will make this show unforgettable to both you and your audience. 
PARTICIPATING IN A SCHOOL PRODUCTION IS A LARGE TIME COMMITMENT.   Cast members will be replaced if they miss rehearsal or leave early without permission.  (if you were on the football team, you wouldn't miss a practice without consequences.)
Cast members may NOT miss rehearsal from NOVEMBER 2ND and on.  These are the last rehearsals before we perform and everyone must be there.    Depending on your role, you won’t be called to every rehearsal.  A complete calendar will be given to you on August 31st.  This is a mandatory full cast rehearsal. At this rehearsal you will receive the rehearsal schedule with specific details regarding when you’ll need to attend rehearsals, as well as your scripts if you are receiving one. 
Please make sure you are not scheduled to do anything on September 1st at 6:00pm.  This is a mandatory full cast and parent meeting.  
Disasters happen, sickness happens.  If we need to make changes in the rehearsal schedule, you will be notified with a text as soon as we know.  

The activity fee for this show is $30 which includes a meal on the longest rehearsal and a t-shirt.

I have completely read this disclosure/audition form.  I am EXCITED to be a part of the show.  My selecting the "Yes" indicates that I understand the costs and schedule as it is written and I am academically eligible  to audition (2.0+ GPA, No F’s) and I will STAY academically eligible, and I will come to ALL  I am called to, including dress rehearsals and all rehearsals after November 2nd.

PLEASE make every effort to be at this meeting.  We need your help to make it a successful production.
