This survey has been designed for the purpose of identifying how well York is dealing with particular priorities of women and also to identify what residents believe to be the priorities of women in York.
Please note that participants must be 18 years old and over and reside in York.
The research we are carrying out is for a course that we have to complete as part of our postgraduate degrees at the University of York. Our project supervisor is Dr Ioana Cismas. Our partner organizations are: York Human Rights City Network and York Women’s Forum.
What will I be asked to do?You will be asked to complete a survey consisting of 32 questions that will be take between approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
Do I have to take part?If you decide not to take part, that’s OK. If you do decide to take part and change your mind before the survey is completed, you can choose to withdraw at this point.You do not have to give a reason. Should you withdraw, any information that you have provided will be destroyed.
What will happen to the information? All information received will be held confidentially and anonymized. If you feel uncomfortable answering any specific questions, please abstain from answering.Data will be stored securely on the University of York’s central data storage system and will be available only to the researchers,their supervisor and the York Human Rights City Network coordinator. The storage and use of this data is in compliance with the UK’s Data Protection Act of 1998. The report will be seen only by academic staff in the York Law School, the Department of Politics, their external examiner and the partner organizations York Human Rights City Network and York Women’s Forum.
Paper copies of survey responses and consent forms will be separated immediately and kept in separate drawers of a filing cabinet that only the researchers, supervisor and partner will have access to. Any survey responses collected electronically will be kept securely on a password protected University Drive.
