MBN Youth Division holds tournaments to qualify student anglers for National B.A.S.S. High School and Junior National Championships. Due to our short season we hold our qualifying tournaments a year in advance of National B.A.S.S. High School and Junior National Championship. H.S. student anglers that are graduating this calendar year, are not eligible to compete in our MBN Youth Division tournaments as it would be a year+ removed from H.S. We encourage student anglers graduating in this calendar year to compete in our Adult Division - info can be found at www.michiganbassnation.com.

Examples:

Completes grade this calendar year:

7th - competes as a 8th grade angler in Junior or H.S Division

8th as 9th competes in H.S. Division

9th as 10th competes in H.S. Division

10th = 11th competes in H.S. Division

11th = 12th competes in H.S. Division

12th = graduate - ineligible to compete in H.S. Division

MBN has three (3) types of Clubs:

1) H.S. School District/School Support Club (9-12 grade): A H.S. School District/School Club is made up of student anglers that are enrolled in the same School District/School and the Club is officially supported by the School District/School (i.e. same as a Trap, Archery, Chess, etc).

Requirements:

A. At least two (2) HS student anglers enrolled at the same School District/School
B. At least one (1) School District/School member contact
C. At least one (1) Non-School District/School adult contact

If anglers from different School District/School teaming up to compete together, please roster them in our MBN H.S. Community Club.

2) MBN H.S. Community Club (8-12 grade) - Student anglers that do not have a MBN affiliated H.S. School District/School Support Club to join roster via this club.

Requirements:

Anglers MUST first speak with a member of a School District’s administration (IE. Principal, Vice Principal, Athletic Director) to determine if the School District is interested in establishing an School District/School Support Club.
If School District is not interested or cannot at this time, a Denial Letter or equivalent must be signed or sent via email from the administration to mbnyouth@gmail.com
Anglers cannot be members of the MBN H.S. Community Club if they are enrolled where there is a MBN affiliated School District/School Support Club.
Anglers MUST have an angling partner that is also a member of the MBN H.S. Community Club.
On an annual basis, one (1) Denial Letter from each School District/School must be executed.

3) Junior Club (2-8 grade) -

Requirements:

Two (2) anglers and an adult contact There are no school district considerations or restrictions for Junior clubs.

DENIAL LETTER

MBN H.S. Community Club requires one (1) ANNUAL H.S. denial letter from the School District/School. Alternatively an email from the administration, or a phone call/message to mbnyouth@gmail.com can be sent from the administration indicating they are not interested in starting an School/District Club Supported Club

Student Anglers wishing to join MBN Youth Division must first have a current/valid Bassmaster Subscription/Membership. The Adult Contact (described below) will need the Angler's 9 digit Membership number to complete the rostering process.

RETURNING Anglers:
Returning Anglers can renew their membership by calling BASS at - 1-877-BASS USA (227-7872) - have your Membership Number from your Membership card or via the label on your magazine description. Have a Credit Card ready also.
