Films must be 2-10 minutes in length, and answer one of the guiding questions below:1. Are we as a society moving towards an environmental dystopia?2. What inspired you to act against climate change?3. Based on the findings of The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), we have 12 years to stop climate change. All submissions must: 1. Be made by someone 25 years or younger at the time of production.2. Be between 2-10 minutes.3. Be original. This means video you shot yourself.4. Use original music or music you have permission to use.5. Have consent of all performers and/or persons appearing in the film. These waivers must be emailed to email@example.com in order for your submission to be considered.
Please note: Given these requirements, we recommend selecting the locations of your film carefully. Some institutions may require permission for filming on-site and this documentation may be requested.
Please note that only films selected for the competition will be shown at the event. The PEYA Executive Committee will judge all submissions and select those for screening. You will be notified prior to the festival if your film has been selected.
Judging Criteria (out of total 50 points):- Film originality (10 points)- Connection to the guiding questions (10 points)- Story has a clear message and a unique story line (10 points)- Composition and quality of production (10 points)- Emotional impact and audience appeal (10 points)
All entries will be judged according to the same rubric. Consideration will be given to the age and grade level of the applicant.
