Weekend Walks are multi-block, multi-day events on commercial corridors that promote the use of streets as public space. Community based organizations apply to close commercial streets and provide active programming that highlights local businesses.
Join us on this warm summer night in Manhattan's Chinatown to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, a time-honored holiday that celebrates the end of the harvest season and the beginning of fall. At the Weekend Walks, we will highlight traditional Chinese customs through moon-gazing and watching folk dance performances, celebrate the Chinatown community by hanging out with friends and residents of the community, and end your summer with a bang by staying out late, playing games and enjoying other family-friendly activities.
From 2pm to 8pm, visit cultural and information booths throughout Forsyth Street, enjoy games and activities, as well as taste all the delicious foods that Chinatown has to offer everyone.
Presented by the Chinatown Partnership, Chinatown BID, and the NYC Department of Transportation.
