SW Montana TS3 HIPS conference registration - October 18, 2018
Please join us as the University of Montana Western hosts the regional HIPS conference focused on three HIPs-- travel programs, undergraduate research, and internships. Dr. Ken O'Donnell, a leading author and speaker on HIPs, will be featured in the opening and closing plenaries. Then our Montana postsecondary colleagues, representing academic affairs, student affairs, and institutional research and assessment, will present on these HIPs. Taking Student Success to Scale (TS3)  an initiative of the National Association of System Heads (NASH). NASH awarded TS3 funds to the Montana University System promote student access to high quality, high impact practices (HIPs).

The conference is located on Montana Western campus, STC Great Room from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM . Lunch will be provided to attendees. There is no conference fee.

Plenary speaker: Dr. Ken O'Donnell
Ken O'Donnell is Associate Vice President of Student Success Program Integration and Assessment at California State University, Dominguez Hills.  He is responsible for connecting student success efforts and high-impact practices across the university and is recognized in the 2013 AAC&U publication Ensuring Quality and Taking High-Impact Practices to Scale, which he wrote with George Kuh.  Ken has addressed conferences and workshops around the country on the connections between deep learning and student success, the benefits of locating college learning in real-world contexts, and the role of public state systems in educational reform.
