Specific Upcoming Volunteer Needs
Here are some of our already scheduled fall events, which we need volunteers for. Please use the question below to indicate which of these event(s) you might be interested in and available to help with. For liability reasons, we typically can not allow our volunteers to bring younger siblings along with them to school. There may be occasional exceptions depending on the event. If you have a question or concern about this, the coordinator for your specific event will be able to answer them for you once they are further along in the planning.
  • Birthday books: Once a month, help students select a birthday gift book. This is best done with two volunteers each month. We would also love to have one volunteer who might like to be a consistent manager of this program throughout the entire school year. The time commitment is 1:20 - 2:20 pm, once per month. The tentative dates are Aug 25, Sept 29, Oct 27, Nov 17, Dec 15, Jan 26, Feb 23, March 22, Apr 16, May 17
  • Annual Fundraiser: During the week of September 18 - 22, we will need several volunteers each day to help in the morning (8 - 9 am) with collecting, counting, sorting, and recording donations that are brought in by students. The morning crew will also determine prizes to be awarded to students based on their current collection level. We will also need a prize patrol in the afternoon (1:30 - 2:20 pm)  to distribute the prized earned that day.
  • Kentucky Kids Day: We need a cheer committee to welcome kids to school on September 26 (7 - 7:40)
  • Book Fair: Ms. Ketchem is in need of volunteers for morning and afternoon shifts at the book fair, September 22 - October 2.
  • Picture Day: We will need a crew of parent volunteers to help manage kids on October 23 as they come to and from their scheduled picture time. These volunteers will help organize kids according to class and name, and make sure photographers have the correct name with the correct student. There may also be some collar fixing, shoe tying, and other minor helpful tasks. There will be both a morning and an afternoon shift.
  • Club/Team Photo Day: On December 12, we need some extra volunteers to manage and arrange groups of students as we take photos for the yearbook.
