WEPOWER is recruiting East St. Louis residents–parents, high schoolers, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, and uncles–who want to lead change to improve our education systems. Participant who attend all required sessions will be paid $500.
Over six months, you will partner with WEPOWER to engage in learning, discussion, and action focused on the following topics:1.) Race and Social Justice2.) Effective Communication and Storytelling3.) Community + Relationship Building4.) Educational Equity–History, Foundations, and Innovations 5.) Vision, Values, and Strategy6.) Community Organizing + Policy
You will be focused on achieving a policy change that strengthens the quality of education among the systems that impact students in East St. Louis City.
You will be expected to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per month towards the Education Power Building Academy and power-building efforts in service of educational equity.
