AZTEA Board of Directors Application Now Open! Due May 22, 2017

The AZTEA Board of Directors governs the overall execution of the organization’s mission. AzTEA core beliefs can be found at: http://aztea.org/core-beliefs/. Principally, the Board manages organizational finances and sets long term priorities for programs and conferences. Additionally, the Board oversees the Executive Director, who is responsible for day-to-day management of AZTEA and its programs. Overall, the members of the Board contribute the educational, management, legal, and financial skills needed to ensure long term organizational stability and ensure year-to-year educational excellence for AZTEA. Applicant must be a current AZTEA member.

Serving as an AZTEA Board member will provide numerous opportunities to develop your leadership skills. The Board of Directors has up to 12 elected members and an executive committee made up of President, President-Elect, Past President, Secretary, ISTE Representative and Treasurer. Terms are for three years.

Board Member responsibilities include attendance at quarterly in-person meetings, as well as teleconference meetings and active electronic conversations as part of AZTEA committees. AZTEA reserves the right to call additional meetings as needed. Board members also hold a fiduciary responsibility for management of organizational capital and ensuring appropriate filings with federal, state, and local authorities consistent with the AZTEA’s status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. AZTEA’s attendance policy allows for removal if three meetings are missed without notice.
