Parallel to the programme of lectures which takes place during Imagining Monuments, artist-curator Anne Bielig will host a row of informal conversations in smaller groups which want to go beyond a curatorial guided tour. The aim of these conversations is a mutual learning experience by carefully examing and formulating questions surrounding the role of monuments today and the general lack of female representations in public monuments and in society at large. Starting from the artistic proposals by Katinka de Jonge, Stef Van Looveren and Mashid Mohadjerin and the preceding research conducted in preparation of the project, we will go into a dialogue and deeper exchange about this sensitive yet urgent topic.
The conversations are free of charge and will take place in Dutch or English (in agreement with the participants). Registration required.
No previous knowledge required. Everyone is welcome!

Parallel aan de publieke avonden rond ‘Imagining Monuments’ organiseert kunstenaar-curator Anne Bielig een reeks intieme, informele gesprekken. Het doel van deze conversaties is een gedeelde leerervaring, door zorgvuldig samen te kijken naar de rol van monumenten vandaag en het gebrek aan vrouwelijke representatie in publieke monumenten en de samenleving als geheel.
Anne Bielig neemt haar eigen vooronderzoek en de artistieke voorstellen van Katinka De Jonge, Stef Van Looveren en Mashid Mohadjerin als vertrekpunt om samen met de deelnemers dieper in te gaan op dit gevoelige, maar urgente thema.

Deelname is gratis, maar registratie is verplicht.
